Reminders
 
- full school uniform consists of either a plain white or navy blue shirt and navy blue pants
-please sign April parent letter

- other options are to hand write or print out assignments, these forms of submitting work are considered hard copy
homework provided in Ms. Astudillo's classes (Math, History, Geography, Art/Drama/Dance) will be on her blog (her blog address was given out during her class)
- homework provided in Ms. Bucci classes (Reading, Writing, Media Literacy, Financial Literacy, Science, Physical Education/Health) can be viewed at www.stsimonbucci.blogspot.ca

-Don't forget students will be writing letters home at the end of every month, teacher comments will also be provided within those letters.  These letters have to be read and signed by the parents and brought back to school.  A notification will be put on this blog as to when they need to be signed and returned.

 Please know the following for the test…
1.  Fluids, role they play in our lives and identify three that are essential to life
2.  Particle theory
3.  Flow rate, viscosity, and cohesion use examples to explain
4.  Impact of dams on the environment
5.  Use the particle theory to explain density
6.  Explain buoyancy (including negative, positive and netural) using fresh water and salt water
7.  Oil density can be harmful and helpful in oil spills
8.  Compare a thumbtack to snow shoes in relation to pressure and force used on each
9.  Why might your ears pop when you descend on a plane?
10.  How a thermometer works using volume and temperature?
11.  The importance of values in the human circulatory system and the varicose veins

*  Test will be short answers with diagrams that need to be labelled.
*  The question worth/mark(s) will determine how much information needs to write within your answer.  For example, if question #1 is worth 3 marks, then you must include   three different ideas related to the question.
Study process…
Review information above and find the information in your notes or text
  1. Use page numbers and dates to guide you in finding the information above
  2. Write notes in your own words and on a separate sheet of paper titled study notes in order for you to better understand the ideas being tested and to have all the information on one or two sheets of paper
  3. Review your study notes daily
  4. Test yourself by writing possible questions based on your study notes
  5. Find the answers and write them out beside the questions
  6. Have someone question you with the questions you’ve provided them
  7. Answer questions both orally and in the written form, writing out the answers will help students who sometimes freeze up during test time so the extra practise will benefit you
  8. The night before the test review everything a few times
  9. During the test take your time and read every question thoroughly, providing as much information as possible

     Writing  - In-class - went over expectations for the science fiction writing assignment .  Students are doing a timed short story this week.  Brainstorming was done yesterday and today for approximately 7mins.  In class, students were given 30 mins of uninterrupted writing time to begin the introduction to their science fiction short story.  (In the introduction, students are identifying the characters, setting and are begining to identify the plot)
