Reminders

- fully school uniform consists of either a plain white or navy blue shirt and navy blue pants

-****a working copy of the application for high school due Monday November 3-teachers will review with students and give them a good copy to complete-due back on Wednesday November 5, 2015

-*** Please sign October parent letter and science test

- enrica.bucci@tcdsb.org or stsimonbucci@gmail.com as well as usbs, are soft copy methods for students to submit assignments
- other options are to hand write or print out assignments, these forms of submitting work are considered hard copy

- homework provided in Ms. Astudillo's classes (Math, History, Geography, Art/Drama/Dance) will be on her blog (her blog address was given out during her class)
- homework provided in Ms. Bucci classes (Reading, Writing, Media Literacy, Financial Literacy, Science, Physical Education/Health) can be viewed at www.stsimonbucci.blogspot.ca

-Don't forget students will be writing letters home at the end of every month, teacher comments will also be provided within those letters. These letters have to be read and signed by the parents and brought back to school. A notification will be put on this blog as to when they need to be signed and returned.

- With your permission, students maybe allowed to bring in their home computer or other electronic devices for class work purposes only in the areas of Literacy, Science, and Health.

Please know the following for the test…

Characteristics of living things
Comparing plant and animal cells (hwk. table)
Know the steps and order of the process of the scientific inquiry
Know cell membrane, diffusion, osmosis, endocytosis and exocytosis and how they relate to each other using solutes and solvents in your explanation
Unicellular and multicellular
Identify examples of diseases caused by cells that have gone wrong
Importance of working safely inside a science classroom as a student

* Test will be short answers with diagrams that need to be labelled.

* The question worth/mark(s) will determine how much information needs to write within your answer. For example, if question #1 is worth 3 marks, then you must include three different ideas related to the question.

Study process…

Review information above and find the information in your notes or text
Use page numbers and dates to guide you in finding the information above
Write notes in your own words and on a separate sheet of paper titled study notes in order for you to better understand the ideas being tested and to have all the information on one or two sheets of paper
Review your study notes daily
Test yourself by writing possible questions based on your study notes
Find the answers and write them out beside the questions
Have someone question you with the questions you’ve provided them
Answer questions both orally and in the written form, writing out the answers will help students who sometimes freeze up during test time so the extra practise will benefit you
The night before the test review everything a few times
During the test take your time and read every question thoroughly providing as much information as possible
