Reminders
 
- fully school uniform consists of either a plain white or navy blue shirt and navy blue pants

- Permission forms with money for Lake St. George are due by Friday, December 12, 2014

- Permission forms for Cardinal Carter High School to see the Nutcracker due by Friday, December 12, 2014

-There will be no parent letter written by students this month

enrica.bucci@tcdsb.org or stsimonbucci@gmail.com as well as usbs, are soft copy methods for students to submit assignments
- other options are to hand write or print out assignments, these forms of submitting work are considered hard copy

homework provided in Ms. Astudillo's classes (Math, History, Geography, Art/Drama/Dance) will be on her blog (her blog address was given out during her class)
- homework provided in Ms. Bucci classes (Reading, Writing, Media Literacy, Financial Literacy, Science, Physical Education/Health) can be viewed at www.stsimonbucci.blogspot.ca

-Don't forget students will be writing letters home at the end of every month, teacher comments will also be provided within those letters.  These letters have to be read and signed by the parents and brought back to school.  A notification will be put on this blog as to when they need to be signed and returned.

- With your permission, students maybe allowed to bring in their home computer or other electronic devices for class work purposes only in the areas of Literacy, Science, and Health.

     Writing  - Teacher conferences and peer editing done in class today and will continue tomorrow for the gaming app expectations required for their procedural writing. Remember to included the following headings and subheadings within your writing piece... Title, Introduction, Materials, Objective/Purpose/Goal, Instructions (using transition words and not #s), and a conclusion.

     Reading - In class: focus was on tone (attitude and style used by the author), mood (feeling you get when reading a text) and theme (major lesson learned) of a story.  Students worked with their short story groups to jot down all elements of story taught to date regarding the short story they are reading.

Hwk: Compare and contrast traditional standard volleyball with a variation of the sport.  This could be done in paragraph form.  One paragraph highlighting all the similarities, while the second paragraph discusses the differences.  Things to consider when writing the comparison are...
What is volleyball?  and the other variation?  How do you play each?  Where do you play it?  Where did it originate from or where around the world is it most popular?  Use these questions you can identify how they are similar and how they differ.
